Arkansas Audubon Society respects the privacy of our customers. The following privacy statement outlines what information we collect from our visitors, who has access to that information and how we utilize it.
Summary in Plain English
Privacy policies can be a heck of a pain to read, so here’s a quick summary. We take your privacy very seriously at Arkansas Audubon Society. That means we will never share your information (including email) with anyone else unless ordered by court. We also take every precaution to protect it from theft. That means industry standard encryption on all sensitive forms (SSL) and secure servers.
We also use something called “cookies” to tailor your browsing experience to you. That’s how we do things like hold your application for you and create customized pages. If you don’t want to have cookies on your system, you can easily change your browser preferences to refuse them. A quick google on “how to disable cookies in <your browser here>” will point you in the right direction.
Arkansas Audubon Society takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.
When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our registration or order forms, that information is encrypted and is protected with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Our employees are regularly notified and reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers’ information is protected. Finally, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. If you have questions about the security of our website, send us an email.
Complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent.
